How to Help a Postpartum Mama

Image
Today is a topic I am really excited to talk about. I aim to answer this question for any of those who will be welcoming a baby of their own as well as those who want to know how to really be there for their friends in the postpartum period. How can I help a postpartum mama? After having 2 babies in the past 2 years, I have gained first hand knowledge on what is most helpful in those newborn days. Although we are all different and have different needs based on our specific situation, I want to share a few things that I found the most helpful and give some ideas on products to have for yourself or create the perfect mama-to-be gift.  We all know those 3 months after birth can be a challenge. Sleepless nights, soreness, heightened emotions and not to mention the huge shift that is taking place in your home as you adjust to another family member. While it has its challenges, it is also a beautiful time full of newness and growth. I once read that a baby is not the only thing born on t...

NEW VENTURE ANOUNCEMENT

Image
Happy Monday!! Today, I have a fun announcement that I am excited to share! I wanted to let everyone know about this new venture I am on and look forward to sharing more about it. I am officially a YOUNG LIVING BRAND PARTNER!  This means I get to help others ditch and switch products in their homes to safe, non toxic ones and build a community that supports each other in wellness. I have been using these products for years and finally jumped in to the business side and I'm so excited. Being a SAHM most of the time, I have missed working toward goals, working alongside others and advocating for people to live healthier lives. When I learned more about this opportunity, I felt like it was the perfect way for me to jump back into that in a different capacity. I look forward to talking with you to see if there are things you are interested in and how I can help!  Products include awesome supplements, essential oils for diffusing in your home and use on your body, non toxic cleani...

Gratitude

Image
HAPPY MONDAY!!!  I hope your week has started smoothly. This evening I have some thoughts on gratitude to share and a quick weeknight meal you can throw together in a pinch! Hope you enjoy :)  What is gratitude? When I think of gratitude, I often think of the cliche things. You know...the things people say they are thankful for around the Thanksgiving table. Though all of these things are not to be taken for granted and are indeed wonderful blessings, gratitude does not stop there. Gratitude is defined by Oxford Languages as "readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness." When I think about that last piece "return kindness," I recognize that gratitude is much deeper than just being thankful. Gratitude makes us a better person, it heals our hearts, builds community and most of all it breeds kindness. I once was told that gratitude and anxiety cannot coexist. Looking into this concept more, I have learned there are studies that show the brain cannot pro...

Sweet Summertime

Image
Summer time is in full swing for our family. We have taken our 1st beach trip as a family of 4, started swim lessons and eaten a lot of watermelon! Today I want to share a couple must have summer products & the importance of a quiet moment. Summer Must Haves All Natural Homemade Sunscreen($18)  It is no secret that big name sunscreens are often loaded with ingredients that have been proven harmful. I'll spare you the research articles for now but I do have a solution! Bree, a local mom, makes all natural sunscreen from beef tallow and other clean & moisturizing ingredients that you can feel good about putting on you and your children.  I have been using her homemade sunscreen for a few weeks now on myself and my kids and not only have we not had any sunburns, we are moisturized! I even used it on my 5 month old with sensitive skin as his 1st experience with any sunscreen product. Not only did it prevent burn with no irritation, it left some dry patches he was dealing ...

Muffins, July 4th & an Essential Oil Spotlight

Image
Welcome back!  Today I have for you the promised toddler muffin recipe, a little 4th of July throwback moment and a fun diy project for a great nights sleep!  We'll start off with a glimpse into my life from a 4th of July past to a full circle moment with my babies. In the neighborhood I grew up in, there was an annual 4th of July parade where families united to deck out bikes, wagons and scooters in the best dollar store decor and parade through the neighborhood dressed in our most adorable red, white and blue. Although I do not have vivid memories of this event due to being so young, I do remember the picture of myself in all my American flag glory that hung on our refrigerator for years engraining that beautiful memory in my mind forever. This week, along with my mom, I loaded the kids up and headed to the dollar store to buy all the glitter loaded 4th of July goodies. We then obnoxiously decorated my baby boy's stroller and toddler's wagon so that we could participate...
