Fun in the Sun-Play Dough Recipe, Alone Time & a Little bit of Structure

Welcoming Summertime is a fun transition! School gets out, pools open, vacations are planned & the sun is out! We have been enjoying our Costco splash pad in the backyard. Best $30 spent this summer! (Link to splash pad) We have a few exciting trips planned this month and I'm sure many things we will be learned through those adventures as we figure out summer traveling with littles.

As we navigate summer and really just this season of life with 2 toddlers, it is evident in our home that a little bit of structure is good for everyone. I am not one to love a strict schedule or feel like I’m up against the clock just to check off another box as I go through the day. However, when expectations are uncertain and no one knows what the day will bring, it can cause a little bit of chaos. Here are 3 things I want to implement this month to help reduce chaos so we can really lean into the joy of this season.

1. Morning Activity: This can be an out of the house venture, trip to the pool, movie or at home activity. I feel that implementing some expectation that there will be something to fill our time after breakfast that doesn't include destroying the house will help with the kids being able to use their energy in a productive way. It will also get me thinking ahead instead of scrounging to find something to do at 10am & not being prepared to make it happen. Here is a link to my play dough recipe that has been a hit for a morning activity so far for ages 2+

2. Alone Time: We have recently started scheduling 1.5 hour blocks throughout the week for both mom & dad to have time to go run errands, work on something uninterrupted, work out, nap or just go sit by the pool alone. It's not much but it is time factored into the busy week & we are already seeing the benefit of having this time to look forward to and eliminate the feelings of "When am I ever going to be able to do...?" I'd highly recommend if you are in a season that can feel overstimulating at times.

3. Meals Together: Sharing meals together is something I have always felt was important and something I wanted to make a priority in our family and we do! But this month is full of grilling opportunities and longer days so I want to make sure we are extending the invite to others around us to share at our table to ground ourselves in family & community. Lastly, this month brings a couple exciting things in the Young Living world! First, my husband's favorite product, Zyng, is on sale for 15% off on a loyalty order which also means we get an additional 20% back in rewards!! Safe to say, we are stocking up. ZYNG is a naturally caffeinated wolfberry infused drink that gives you the afternoon boost you need without any dyes, preservatives or natural flavors! And it really is delicious. The cash back, free gifts & extra savings are why we order all the YL things on loyalty each month. Check out my Red, White & Blue bundle to get some great savings! And if it's your 1st purchase, you get an additional 10% off with code SHAREYL

And secondly, it is Young Living's 30th anniversary and convention happens this month! That means in just a couple weeks, YL is going to release new & exciting products for us to try and it's always so exciting but this year for the 30th, there are some extra fun things in store! So make sure you are following me on Instagram here to see all the new products as they are released!

And as always, I'd love to hear from you, be a resource for low tox living & wellness so never hesitate to reach out! Enjoy your summer and find joy in the little things as you navigate through whatever season you are in! Sending love <3
